Is it made out of wood? Where did you get it? And when you have little crafts or activities you put in there do you have the craft stuff on hand - like you've shopped ahead of time for it? Or do you use stuff you have around the house?? Tell me more! Tell me more!! :)

So I got it from Costco like 4 years ago. It is starting to fall apart now, because the kids are not exactly gentle with it. I looked for a replacement at Costco this year and did not see it. It is made out of wood and it is so cute. I saw some advent calendars at Kohls that were made out of wood. They were cute too. I usually go to Micahels and hit up their crafts. They have all kinds of holiday crafts for just a few dollars. And the kids love them. Then depending on how much time we have in the evening I pick what we do. The activities range from the crafts to looking at christmas lights, hanging candy canes on the tree, reading christmas books, have late night cookies and hot chocolate, just something different every night. I just buy some cute choclates and put the choclate and a note with the activity in the little door. It is so much fun, it really has become my favorite part of Christmas and it really does not cost very much.
