My Cowboy

Rodeo Time! The kindergartners put on the best Rodeo in town. Here is my little cowboy

Zachary was so fast during the barrel racing on his horse "Army Man Trooper" that he was a blur in the picture.

Jason videoed the performance it was pretty cute. I love that the teachers teach them songs like "The Grand Old Flag" he has been singing it at home. The little girl next to Zachary pushed him during one of the songs, she was really into it and I guess needed more room. I don't think he even noticed it

I am going to a spa day today. Yippie, that is my kind of Rodeo Weekend Celebration.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

I can't keep up with everything. Any 'extra' type activities in the week always throw me off.

The 2nd grade play was this week at Harelson. It was '3 of a Kind', the kids worked so hard on it and they did a fabulous job. When they are on stage, I picture that same group of kids just 2 short years ago on stage together as kindergartners. I know it will be just a blink of an eye and they will all be up there for 6th grade graduation, yikes!

The very next day, was dress up as your favorite book character. So we were out late right after the play trying to find stuff to put together costumes. Zachary waned to wear a Star Wars costume, he could not understand that it was a book character and not a Halloween costume. We held our ground, trying to offer ideas to him for costumes of book characters, not movie characters. After about an hour in the store, we settled on Harry Potter. He looked the part, but refused to wear it when morning time came.  Can you guess what Grace choose to be? This was after school so the costume is disheveled, but try to picture glasses on her as well (they broke at school), and the socks all the way pulled up, and a headband with a big bow.

When Zachary got him from school the first thing he told me was which kids had star wars costumes on and Why Oh Why did I not let him wear his star wars costume. I guess I should not have followed directions so well and been like the other lazy parents and just let him wear the dang star wars costume.

Phew, finally the weekend is here!

Jason got me a new lens for my camera, we tested it out today at Josh's football game. We got some great pictures of him. He is becoming quite the football player! He is spending the night tonight so everyone is happy.

I have been wanting red skinny jeans. What do you think? I am wondering if I am too old to wear colored jeans. But they are so cute in all the magazines. I have not had a chance to try them on yet, I may be too old to pull them off successfully, we will see.

I am looking for a nice handheld clothes steamer.  I hate ironing and avoid doing it. When Zachary was about 3 we were in a hotel room and he got very excited because he thought the ironing board was a surf board. So you see, I really hate to iron. This Roweta Ultra Steamer got some mixed reviews, if you have any recommendations let me know.

I was reading about Beauty Balms. The concept was developed in Asia and it is supposed to even skin tone and improve texture. I see that Too Faced has come out with one. I want to get this, I love their Primer and this looks even better:

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Yaya had the most wonderful Valentine Party for the grandkids. They had so much fun, we all did! The best part was, all the grandkids (sans Lauren) spent the night. Which meant, I slept until 8:30 on Sunday and Jason and I had a wonderful breakfast out, just the two of us. It is so nice to eat out just the two of us. We can actually chew our food and carry on a conversation, without having to yell at someone (Jayden) to get out from under the table.

Hope you received and valentine and flowers today. I received a valentine but I bought my own flowers, my favorite, daffodils.

Babysitting

Lauren came to play over the weekend. She is so cute, and Jeff and Tina are very lucky, she is such an easy girl! They say she has big tantrums, but I just don't believe it.

We spent most of the time outside, as she is usually not outside very much. I tease Jeff that he is such a protective daddy and does not even allow her to go outside.

This was very evident as she was fascinated with the rocks and spent most of her time picking them up and handing them to me. She was so thrilled, and was telling me with her body language "Look at me, I am outside, and I am so happy". It is hard to describe, but she uses her whole body to communicate. I don't remember my kids doing that as much as she does.

The Boys' Valetines Party

On Sunday, Zachary had a friend come over to play. I offered Zach and his friend all of the activities that Grace and her friends did at The Girls' Valentines Party. They would have none of it. Instead, they were perfectly happy and had just as much fun playing outside and making some kind of moat waterway.

And that is exactly why, I am so happy that I have 2 sons.

The Girls' Valentine Party

Girls are so much fun, and I am so happy that I have a daughter to do girly things with.

We had a Valentines party,  it was a blast and utterly exhausting. 6 hyper little girls for 3 hours! We did hide and seek hearts in the backyard, heart pizza making, a treasure hunt, valentine creations and cookie decorating. We had chocolate fondue for desert... yummy! Whew, I am getting tired just remembering it all.
