My Cowboy

Rodeo Time! The kindergartners put on the best Rodeo in town. Here is my little cowboy

Zachary was so fast during the barrel racing on his horse "Army Man Trooper" that he was a blur in the picture.

Jason videoed the performance it was pretty cute. I love that the teachers teach them songs like "The Grand Old Flag" he has been singing it at home. The little girl next to Zachary pushed him during one of the songs, she was really into it and I guess needed more room. I don't think he even noticed it

I am going to a spa day today. Yippie, that is my kind of Rodeo Weekend Celebration.

The Boys' Valetines Party

On Sunday, Zachary had a friend come over to play. I offered Zach and his friend all of the activities that Grace and her friends did at The Girls' Valentines Party. They would have none of it. Instead, they were perfectly happy and had just as much fun playing outside and making some kind of moat waterway.

And that is exactly why, I am so happy that I have 2 sons.

Lo and Behold

Grace and Jayden have been playing together a lot lately. I think it is because she can still get away with bossing him around, and not so much Zachary anymore. This morning, they played for several hours and then they started arguing and would not stop. I told them that they could not play together anymore and I sent Jayden out to play outside. A few minutes later, I hear Grace's voice outside and they are on the swings together. She was trying to teach him how to pump his legs and swing by himself. Lo and behold, her lesson worked and he started swinging all by himself. He was so proud, and she was just as happy and proud that she was the one that taught him.

One minute they are arguing and the next sharing a great moment together. I suppose that is what siblings are all about; at all ages.

In other news, we are still a bit sick. Zachary woke me up in the middle of the night last night complaining of an ear ache. I took him to the doctor this morning and he has an ear infection. The doctor said it was extremely red and bulging and was surprised Zachary was not crying in pain. He said that it is possible that it might burst, I hope that the antibiotics don't take long to work and it can heal it before that happens. My sweet boy, I hate when they are in pain!

Hiking

The weather was so beautiful, we took the kids for a hike on Monday. I just love the desert mountains.

Climbing on the big boulders.

Jayden had no fear and wanted to climb the biggest ones, which kept freaking me out.

Zachary thinks he found a four leaf clover here.

Jayden discovered a rock that looks like a marshmallow

Jayden says this is his new bed

Zachary lead the way

The kids found several animal homes

Jayden kept sticking his head or fingers in these homes, he is really good at freaking me out.

Grace rests after all that climbing, she is getting so grown up.

Where do they come up with this stuff?

I'm sitting on the couch making the grocery list and this is what I hear in a matter of 5 minutes:

Grace: Assistant Zachary, hand me the remote.

Zachary Ignores

Grace: Assistant Jayden, hand me the remote.

Jayden Ignores

Zachary: Jayden did not sign a contract, he's not getting you the remote.

Zach and Jayden go outside to play.

One minute Later:

Zach comes in and informs me that Jayden peed in a Tupperware container outside and that he had to throw it against the tree and tell Jayden not to pee in Tupperware.

I stick my head out the door and tell Jayden to come inside and pee in the potty when he has to pee. Then I finish my grocery list.

Santa Yoda

Zachary is the type of child who has always picked just one thing as the only thing he likes. Then he pours himself into that one thing and becomes consumed with only that. When he was two, it was Thomas the Train, when he was three it was bugs, when he was four it was dinosaurs. He only wanted to play with things and read books that were only those subjects. He knew all kinds of facts about bugs and spiders and every type of dinosaur. I would read him a book and he would retain all of the information while I promptly forgot which dinosaur was which. I try to tell him he can like more than one thing, but it is to no avail.

I bet he will always be like that his life, he will hone in on one interest at a time and give it his all. When he is older I sure hope he does not pick some girl to hone in on and wind up a stalker. Guess, I will worry about that later.

Anyway, right now he is very into star wars  legos. Those little minifigures have got me hooked in as well. Lucky boy he is because now I want the whole collection too. I discovered a star wars lego building contest online. Josh came over on Sunday and the kids went to work. They had to build something out of star wars legos that conveys the holiday spirit. They did an amazing job:

This is "Christmas Day on Hoth" Zachary made an ice skating star wars guy, pretty clever.

This is "Joy to the Galaxy", Santa Yoda holding a wreath is at the top of the minifigure tree.

Their creations are posted at:

http://www.legosantayoda.com/

If they win the contest, the grand prize is a 2 foot yoda made out of legos. They also have weekly prizes, I hope the kids win one of those, they would be so excited.

The best part is, when you send the star wars holiday video greeting cards off of this website, Lego will donate legos to kids this Christmas. Pretty Great, I will be sending some off this morning on behalf of Zachary!

The Nutcracker

The Kindergarten classes at Harelson put on the Nutcracker. It was a very cute performance. Zachary was a mouse, and the best mouse on the stage at that!
